Zook's World

I graduated from the University of Evansville, in Evansville, Indiana. as a graphic designer in Visual Communications. Working in the artistic field for six years, I decided to join the Evansville Fire Department & switched to creating websites on my off days. I sorta created my own company, which didn't amount to anything but a name & webpage.

Fast forward to January 16, 2016 & the infamous mile 109...

My younger sister, Brooke, decided to make me her Maid of Honor on January 30, 2016. Going up two weeks earlier to get my LONG hair in order for the wedding, landed me in a month long rest & relaxation process. Most people call it a coma, but what do they know?! About 5 miles south of Bloomington, at mile 109, I hit black ice & spun out of control. I hit an INDOT truck parked on the side of the road. Apparently, the INDOT dude was checking out the other morning accidents. Ironically, the time of the accident was listed as 0911...both my roller derby number & my daily job!

So, we learned of a doctor in Louisville, Kentucky whom brought my brother's friend's wife out of a coma after a motorcycle accident. JB & Brian hadn't spoken in over 20 years & after hearing of my accident, JB got in touch with my brother regarding Dr Darryl Kaelin. Enter Frazier Rehabilitation Center & the next phase of recovery. A fellow firefighter offered an ambulance & paramedic to transfer me from Indianapolis to Louisville. I was rolled into Frazier on a medical gurney, unconscious, on February 16th & walked out of Frazier on April 10th.
